I’m so glad I decided to work with Custom Hardwoods on new kitchen cabinets. Everyone was very helpful and so easy to work with. They listened to what I said I wanted and also made suggestions about things I wouldn’t have thought of. The cabinets themselves are so well crafted that it’s hard to believe they’re handmade.

We really enjoyed the whole process. Great attention to detail was paid during the planning process. The team worked with us through the whole process. The cabinets turned out beautiful - Better than we imagined.

Impeccable service and craftsmanship. We could not be more pleased with the quality of work Custom Hardwoods provided. They made cabinets for our kitchen, three bathrooms, and laundry room. They also made a fireplace mantle, floating shelves, and an entryway locker system for all of our family's coats and bags. Everything flows together beautifully and looks fantastic. Good customer service can be hard to find these days so it was refreshing to have a company provide great service and follow through with what they said they were going to do. It is important to note that they also followed the timeline they provided at the beginning of the project and didn't cut corners. 10/10- Would definitely recommend!

We had used Steve and his team on a house we built a few years ago and were very happy with the work, and experience, it only made sense to use them again. Steve, Pat, Chance, and Gabe Speltz did amazing work with us in the design, build, and installation of a an office countertop/drawer unit with overhead cabinets, a mudroom closet, and a total redo of our walk-in master bedroom closet. The pieces are beautiful and highly functional. If you are looking to remodel a closet I highly recommend that you talk to Steve. My wife is absolutely thrilled with the upgrade in both look and storage capability. Custom Hardwoods is an old-school family business run on honesty, integrity, quality and customer service. We worked with Steve and the Speltz family to design, build, and install custom kitchen cabinets, pantry shelves, and a beautiful island top; a vanity, breakfast nook bench and table, a mud room coat and shoes bench and laundry cabinets in our new home. Each piece is simply beautiful. The workmanship and attention to detail is amazing. We used several different types of wood with some painted and some natural and we got EXACTLY what we wanted. The Pat & Steve Speltz design team delivered a picture perfect kitchen replacement to our 100+ year old home. They had a true sense of the character of the house and made suggestions that were in concert with both the architecture and history. They delivered on time and exactly as quoted. Great to work with. Our suggestion; pay attention as they may gently nudge toward design solution(s)....they know exactly what they are doing. Absolutely the most gorgeous custom cabinets I ever could have dreamed of! If you are considering “semi custom cabinets” offered at local/regional lumber yards, don’t do it! The quality and beauty of the cabinets made locally by the Speltz family far surpasses those “semi custom” options. You can get whatever you can dream of (and more) and the cost is roughly equal to or tLESS than those over-priced semi custom options, in my experience. I could not be more impressed with this business. Steve and Pat were so incredibly kind, thoughtful, helpful and flexible. When I changed my design, no problem. When I freaked out and thought the measurements were going to be off (they weren’t, of course), they immediately called me and, kindly and patiently, went over it with me. Their son, Chance is a skilled artisan as well and has a wonderful design sense and is also so kind and patient. I initially never considered custom cabinets for my small project. I assumed they would be too expensive and was going to go with the “semi custom option” to save money. What a mistake that would have been . They actually cost more and I would not have been nearly as happy. Of course, these cabinets will be more Money than the cheap junk from the big box stores (Don’t do it, buy local!) but if you are looking at the “Semi custom option” that was described to me by the salesman as “mid-end” (as opposed to High-end) because you are worried that High end custom cabinets will be too expensive, I encourage you to just call them. You will likely be very surprised by the cost and you will definitely be happier with what you get for your money. I LOVE this business and this family!

Custom Hardwoods provided us with beautiful custom cabinetry for our once in a life time dream kitchen. The cabinet construction, fit and the painted finish, were outstanding. The self-closing door hinges and drawer guides are top notch and of the best quality. The attention to details both big and small along with Steve and Pat’s willingness to address our many concerns with thoughtful advice from the beginning planning stages to the final on site installation of cabinetry was spot on. Custom Hardwoods delivered the TOTAL package which included pulls and knobs, custom drawer inserts for spices and silverware, special pull out lazy Susan’s, decorative glass door inserts, range hood vent fan / light combination, crown and base moldings, and on site installation. Steve re-created a staircase for us that exactly matched the 140 year-old original staircase that had been partially removed many years ago. His attention to detail, his artistry and craftsmanship were amazing. Right down to making the ball on the top of the newel post look worn from hands rubbing over it for many years as people used the stairrail! It's hard enough to find a good craftsman...but to also find an artist who cares so much about really making it right, right down to the smallest detail, pretty rare indeed. I recommend Custom Hardwoods as highly as you can go - if I could give you 10 stars, I would. Super job Steve and Chance! We are thrilled with what you did for us and will be in touch again soon as we launch into creating a new kitchen.

Speltzs did all the cabinets, built-in, office furniture, and bar for us. Absolutely love their work and receive constant complements on the look and finish. They are my first and last stop for cabinets!

We had kitchen cabinets custom made a year ago, and just had staircase cabinets made this month. The woodwork is absolute artistry, and the Speltz family is wonderful to work with. In our kitchen remodel, they provided guidance and structure that made the whole remodel successful, and the cabinets are the centerpiece of the kitchen. They are beautiful and functional. The new staircase cabinets were most likely a design nightmare, but they were installed yesterday, and they for perfectly and are lovely. Steve and the Speltz family are simply the best at what they do.
